Forcing leafnode to always retrieve only a few groups.
I'm using leafnode-1.9.2 on more than one host.
On one of these hosts, I want to restrict leafnode to only retrieve
news from a small subset of groups supported by my upstream servers.
I can think of a couple ways to do this, but I'd like to find out
the recommended method for this.
Here are the ways I have been able to think of ...
1. Always invoke `fetch' from within a wrapper script which first
deletes everthing from the `interesting.groups' directory, and
then creates zero-length files in that directory only for the
subset of groups that I'm interested in. Only after this is done
would this wrapper script then run `fetch' itself.
2. Set `timeout_active' in my `config' file to a huge value so
that my `groupinfo' file won't get automatically generated
in my lifetime. Then, run `fetch -f' once. After that, edit
the `groupinfo' file to only contain entries for the small subset
of groups that I'm interested in.
Which of these, if any, are the recommended methods for doing what I
want to do? Or perhaps there is another way to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance.
