[leafnode-list] fetch problem

        Hi! I was running fetch everyday for 2 months or more without
problems. However yesterday, fetch didn´t run the process that it would run
in the end (correction + write). So, when fetch finished, I didn´t see any
new messages.

        It happened once a long time ago. I really don´t know why this happens
since I didn´t change anyhting on my system:

Linux 2.2.9 i586
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root           13 Jul 26  1998 /lib/libc.so.6 ->
libc-2.0.7.so
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc/i586-pc-linux-gnu/pgcc-2.91.66/specs
gcc version pgcc-2.91.66 19990314 (egcs-1.1.2 release)
GNU ld version 2.9.1 (with BFD 2.9.1.0.24)

        Any hints?

        Thank you very much!

        PS: another question I have is ¨What is the limit for the numbering
of messages?¨ For example: I noticed that it writes a file named ¨2¨ then
¨3¨, ¨4¨ etc and goes up. Is there a limit or it will go raising forever?
