[leafnode-list] problems with fetching...

I download new news each night... but I often don't have a chance to sit down and read anything for quite some time.  I tried to set my expire time to 1 day and manually run texpire when I caught up.  Unfortunately... I think fetchnews sees the short expire time and avoids downloading new messages.  Is this true?  I thought the maxage variables would determine what to download and only texpire would read the expire time.  Am I missing something?
