Does it? On my ancient libc5, ctime() automatically attaches an \n to the
output string by itself, i.e. the output looks something like

28900-943543591-1:     1268 bytes, spooled Thu Nov 25 16:26:31 1999
        From: Cornelius Krasel <krasel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
        Ngrp: de.comp.os.unix.linux.misc
        Subj: Re: Login-Screen-Text "Welcome to SuSE Linux..."  =?ISO-8859-1?Q?=

which is the way it should look like (IMO, of course). (Did I ever mention
that I hate portable programming?)
