Don't know anything about this. Please update to at least leafnode-1.9.6
(current is 1.9.7) because of a Y2K bug in <= 1.9.4.

This is a bug in 1.9.2; don't worry about it.

This may be a bug in all leafnode versions up to and including 1.9.7.
I am currently testing some code which may fix the problem. As a
immediate fix, try invoking "fetchnews" (formerly called "fetch")
with the -n parameter which switches automatical unsubscription off
entirely. To manually unsubscribe a group, remove its entry in
/var/spool/news/interesting.groups (e.g. type as root
"rm /var/spool/news/interesting.group/boring.stuff").
