Leafnode-2.0 is currently in alpha status, and there are a few people
playing with it and sending patches. I can safely say that it is not
yet ready for regular use.

Among other things, it will contain the following features:

- rnews (for use with UUCP or other news transfer agents than fetchnews)
- command pipelining (should speed up fetchnews)
- better filtering
- more command line options for fetchnews
- threaded expire (at the moment, texpire claims to be threaded but is not)

and possible others which are not implemented yet.
