I've put the suggestions that I've received so far on the old
Leafnode site at
Here are more thoughts about a logo (for what it's worth; I am not a
designer, so the thoughts are probably not even worth the usual 0.02$).
First, the logo should imply that Leafnode can be used under a wide
variety of Unix operating systems. Second, the Logo should be suitable for
reproduction in a variety of sizes (imagine that it should fit into the
left upper corner of the new leafnode homepage at
http://www.leafnode.org/). Third, I don't think the Logo does
necessarily have to contain text.
Some examples of logo's that I like are the RedHat
(http://www.redhat.com/img/logo_big2.gif), the Gnome
(http://www.gnome.org/pics/foot-transparent.gif) logo, Tux or the
BSD daemon (http://www.freebsd.org/gifs/dae_up2.gif).
Some which I don't like are SuSE (http://www.suse.de/images/s_top_logo.gif)
or Debian (http://www.debian.org/Pics/logo-50.jpg).
As I said, my less than 0.02$,
