Are you sure it's fetching articles from both servers?  Leafnode checks
by message ID to see if an article has already been downloaded before it
tries to download it.  If you check what's actually going on while
Leafnode is talking to the upstream servers you should see that Leafnode
will only download articles not already present when talking to either
server.  Placing the same server twice in your list of servers should
provide an obvious demonstration of this.

As far as posting to multiple upstream servers goes, this should only be
a problem when posting to moderated groups or when posting to restricted
distribution groups which exist on several servers but are not propageted
to all of them.  It's ugly and a bit broken but the news system should
be able to cope.
