Any reply to XOVER besides 224 (indicating succes) is unknown to 
fetchnews, even it is valid. The message in the log my be
disturbing, but it's not a serious problem. Why the
leafnode-1.9.17 returned low/high marks that don't contain any
articles is a different question, though...

Yes, looks like a bug (somebody substracting 1 from an unsigned
long 0).
