[leafnode-list] Fetchnews oddities
I compiled and installed leafnode 1.9.17 on my Solaris 7 x86 machine
yesterday. For the most part, its working fine. I can read and post
without a problem. However, fetchnews is being a little strange. Basically,
its taking about 45 minutes to gather news for about 7 groups. There are
never more than 200 articles grabbed per run, and they're 'standard size'
articles. I did a bit more digging, and turned on verbosity while fetchnews
was running. I've tried fetchnews with one -v, all the way up to four.
None of them tell me much. I've also added in 'debugmode = 1' to my config
file, but it seems to be ignoring it, as syslog isn't doing anything with
it. I've added the line 'news.debug /var/log/news.debug' to my
/etc/syslog.conf, and restarted syslog. Whenever I run fetchnews, it gives
me output like this:
root@tiamat:/var/spool# fetchnews -vvvv
1.9.17: verbosity level is 4

Does anyone have any idea whats going on? The connection to my news server
is reliable, and of a decent speed (at least a T1, not exactly sure).
Thanks!
