If people can't work out how to configure their clients there's no
reason to expect them to be able to work out how to configure Leafnode
either.  Adding the requisite code to fix up From: headers seems
overkill and error prone given how many people would be likely to use it.

If you're going to go down this road it's probably better to have
generic filtering as has been talked about in the past and use the
existing tools - it's probably not that much more complex a job but
would be far more useful.
