[leafnode-list] leafnode, slow nntp connection?

I installed leafnode a few days ago,
it seems to work very well,
beside that I only get about 30K/s when reading the local articles 
(with binaries).

the leafnode server is on the same machine than the news reader 
(netscape) I'm using .

Is there something wrong with my setting or is it something known about 
the nntp server part of leafnode ?
