[leafnode-list] leafnode on Digital Unix

Sorry if it's a FAQ (well, it's not in the FAQ anyway), but it's my
first leafnode build on Digital Unix after using it for a while on
RedHat Linux.

After running configure on a Alphabox with Digital UNIX V4.0D (Rev.
878) I run make and I get

morticia:/usr/local/src/leafnode-1.9.18$ make
cc -I. -DHAVE_CONFIG_H  -g   -c -o nntputil.o nntputil.c
cc: Error: leafnode.h, line 40: Ill-formed parameter type list.
(parmtyplist)
int snprintf( char *str, size_t n, const char *format, ... );
-------------------------^
make: *** [nntputil.o] Error 1

I've read in the archive that problems with snprintf are reported on
Digital Unix and a patch was provided against 1.9.13. Do I have to apply
the same patch to current source tree? Is there another strategy to
compile?

Please note that I use Digital cc and not gcc.

Thanks!
