Further information:

Process table exhaustion will return 503 because a fork problem can
still be trapped, but permission problems, file descriptor exhaustion,
full disk may still lose the posting.

If something goes wrong with posting, leafnode tries to move the article
to failed.postings, which may or may not succeed, but in any case, the
clients sees "successful posting". But still, if there's trouble writing
to failed.postings, the posting is gone.

So, if someone claims his posts lost, a look into failed.postings is
worthwhile, but the posting may really be lost just as well.
