[leafnode-list] IHAVE for posting messages?

Howdy! This is my first time posting to the list.

My upstream provider requires IHAVE in order to forward posts from my node.
Unfortunately, it appears leafnode supports only POST. I believe the reason
they only support IHAVE is to discourage small or individual users, and
encourage peering from their downstream customers. However, I don't want to
carry a gigantic leaf node, nor do I want to deal with the perpetual
maintenance headache of filters that is innd (if you try to restrict to very
few groups). Leafnode seemed to suit the bill.

Has anybody set up leafnode with some kind of IHAVE transport before? My
provider isn't likely to allow POST unless we buy access to their "consumer"
newsgroup server. I was thinking maybe using some part of the nntp package
to provide IHAVE services would work. Any thoughts?
