Here is the header of that article (the 7th of a new newsgroup), as it is now
saved on my disk:

  Message-ID: <7@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
  From: Aldo Giove <MC8157@xxxxxxxxx>
  Newsgroups: mclink.rubriche.attualita.prima-pagina
  Subject:
  Date: 6 Nov 2001 16:12:43 CET
  Lines: 23
  Size: 830
  Xref: sergio.roma.it mclink.rubriche.attualita.prima-pagina:8

The error message was:

  article .... contained illegal headers

and I couldn't find a /var/spool/news/.../8 file (there was a hole between 7
and 9; the same hole was in the .overview file).

I can read that newsgroup by a web interface; the subject of that article is
"<Unknown>".

I uninstalled leafnode (removing /var/spool/news), applied my patch,
installed leafnode again; so I was able to read that article.

That's all :-)

Sergio
