I don't patch my kernel to make strace work. What kernel, what kernel
version and what strace version do you have?

2.0b8_ma8 or _ma9rc3 should be more stable.

1.9.19 shares the "lose groups from the group list" problem unless you
add my fix-locking-patch from http://mandree.home.pages.de/leafnode/
