It's an old Alpha running Digital UNIX V4.0D (Rev. 878).
I've compiled leafnode with egcs-2.91.60 (GCC).

RC5 works fine, but RC8 gives me these problems:

- list of groups is ok, list of articles is ok, but selecting a single
article hangs forever.
This with tin 1.5.8 release 20010221 ("Blue Water") from Debian Linux.

- texpire hangs forever after last group and before total count.
This happened either if there were articles to delete or not.

- fetchnews looks ok
