Read config.example and set debugmode accordingly.  Make your syslogd
output DEBUG logs (adjust /etc/syslog.conf, see man 5 syslog.conf)
someplace handy.  If all this does not work, try 
        telnet your.local.host nntp
and then
        group new.unsubscribed.group
        xover 1-
        article
        quit
and post the output.  But probably it would help more to see what your
news reader does, since that above sequence should work.  Note that _if_
you have visited the group before, the pseudo article will _not_ appear,
but the correspondong file in interesting.groups should exist.

Don't forget to reset syslog settings afterwards or your logs will fill
up quickly.  Make sure to not post any passwords or other important data
from your syslog.
