[leafnode-list] Verbosity of fetchnews version 2.0b8_ma9

Hi,
running fetchnews from 2.0b8_ma9, I get messages on STDERR even if
verbosity level is 0 and debugging level is 0.

news@bakunin:~$ /usr/local/sbin/fetchnews
fetchnews: version 2.0b8_ma9; verbosity level is 0; debugging level is 0
reading /var/spool/news/leaf.node/groupinfo and
/etc/leafnode/local.groups
found 0 articles in in.coming.
fetchnews: 6 articles fetched, 0 killed, in 46 seconds
fetchnews: Fixing XOVER
fetchnews: Background process finished

Since it's run by cron every hour I get a mail message over and over.
Is there any way to put it in a 'quiet' mode without losing actual error
reporting?
