Hmm, So the problem is exclusively with the ISP? Glad it is not the system. I 
was previously with another ISP and had no problems at al, and switched and 
again had no problems, just seemed to happenw hen i went with w fresh install 
of mandrake 9.0 instead of 8.2. Thanks for the help resolving that, It is 
much appreciated. 

There are free news servers out there isn't there??
