Thanks.  I compiled the snapshot.  I couldn't get the patch to install.  My 
gcc is 2.96.  Perhaps it doesn't need the patch.

During installation, there were a lot of messages to the effect that lines in 
fetchnews will never be run.

More specifically, what executable should I link to in xinetd?  The only one 
in /opt/leafnode2 is sendbatch.bash.  I only seem to have one file named 
"leafnode" - the old one.  Similarly with fetchnews.  The only file in 
/etc/leafnode2 is the uucp config file.
