The only reference lately that I've been able to find is on
May 5 at 02:15:01 when fetchnews erased a stale lock.file and on May 6
fetchnews complained about an illegal article:broken pipe. There is no
mention of yesterday's or today's stuck lock.file.

texpire runs faithfully every night and has never hung. It's only
fetchnews that has been having problems. I've been calling it once an
hour. I'm going to change this to once every 6 hours and see if there's a
difference.
