Does leafnode have difficulties fetching the newsgroup list or the list
of descriptions? If so, it will re-try the next time.

Try fetchnews -vv to find out. If that doesn't help, see the
TROUBLESHOOTING section of the README file for instructions on how to
get more logs out of leafnode.
