Leafnode 1.9.42 has been released. It fixes a hand when downloading
articles that lack one or more of the mandatory headers, fixes potential
crashes in fetchnews and removes one bogus message that happens when
leafnode has unsubscribed from newsgroups (expired newsgroups).

NOTE: due to a packaging error, leafnode 1.9.42.rel contains some files
that are named .#SOMETHING in the pcre directory (this applies to the
upgrade patch as well), these are not necessary and should be removed.


Note that you can subscribe to a moderated (non-spam) leafnode-announce
mailing list or you can watch file releases at sourceforge below, if you
want to be notified when new leafnode releases become available.

Leafnode 1.9.42 is or will become available in .tar.bz2 format from these sites:

o Check lastreply() against NULL, in an effort to fix obscure sporadic and
  non-reproducable crashes on OpenBSD sparc64. (Reported by Bruno Rohee)
o Fix bogus "Cannot open .../interesting.group/group.name for reading" when a
  group subscription has expired. (Reported by Andreas Muck)
o Fix hang when trying to download an article that lacked mandatory headers.
  (Very old bug, recently found by Joshua Crawford)

o The ChangeLog file has been split, older parts (leafnode 1.9.31.rel and
  before) have moved to the "new" ChangeLog.old file.
