Two things:

1. Microsoft MUST NOT reset the high article count, not even in case of
   data base damage or larger spam deletions. Complain to the operators.

2. msnews.microsoft.com is DREADFULLY slow (i. e. overloaded). Even a
   "xover 463975-464240" which requests information on 266 articles is
   AWFULLY slow and takes like half a minute to complete. They have a
   load issue.

What you're seeing is not a "hang" but a "slow server" problem. Complain
to Microsoft about the issues above.

I'll release an updated leafnode version that lets "initialfetch" apply
in this case, so you could limit the impact of this problem by setting
initialfetch=500 early in your config file.
