I upgraded to leafnode 1.9.48 and get lots of warnings since for
every fetchnews call, lots of lines like:

news.individual.de: comp.lang.python:301101: article without blank line after header, format violation
news.gmane.org: gmane.comp.web.zope.zwiki:4378: article without blank line after header, format violation
