[leafnode-list] leafnode-1.9.53.rc5 available

Hello,

leafnode 1.9.53 release candidate #5 is available at
http://home.pages.de/~mandree/leafnode/

This should put an end to the recent authentication problems with
RFC-2980-nonconformant servers (those that do not request authentication
with a 480 code) and fixes Date: generation on 64 bit machines (broken
in rc4) - and it does away with the forceauth option which is now
always on.

The previous bug fixes WRT authentication remain in place, fetchnews
will still authenticate for every 480 code (but it will not loop if the
server is broken) on oblivious servers.

It is available as .tar.bz2 source tarball
and as ready-to-go RPM for i486 compatible Linux machines with libpcre
or pcre installed and GNU libc 2.2.

Changes since 1.9.53.rc4:
2004-04-27  Matthias Andree <matthias.andree@xxxxxx>

	--- 1.9.53.rc5 ---
	* config.example, configutil.c, fetchnews.c, leafnode.8.in,
	leafnode.h, nntputil.c, doc_german/leafnode.8.in: Kill forceauth,
	revert to 1.9.51 volunteered authentication, logging that a
	potential authentication failure may have been caused by a premature
	authentication. Fetchnews will still re-try authentication when
	requested later by a 480 code.
	* miscutil.c: Format string type fix, for 64-bit machines. Bug
	introduced in 1.9.53.rc.
	* config.example: Use sane server= defaults/examples.
