[leafnode-list] missing something

Attempting to get leafnode running, but am missing something, not sure
what, but it has to do with telnetd. Installed telnetd, iptables,
kmyfirewall, bind. When I attempt to run telnetd -debug I get "telnetd:
bind: Address already in use".
Can someone point me in the right direction?? Using vidalinux which is
Gentoo based. Have run leafnode for a long time on Mandrake with no
problems. Been beating my head against the wall for a week on this problem.
