i've tried this, but did not succeed with

  'leafnode-version'
  version: leafnode-2.0.0.alpha20060321a
  current machine: Linux spotteswoode.dnsalias.org 2.6.8-3-686 #1 Thu Feb 9 07:39:48 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
  bindir: /usr/local/bin
  sysconfdir: /etc/leafnode
  default spooldir: /var/spool/news
  IPv6: yes
  default MTA: /usr/sbin/sendmail
  pcre version: 4.5 01-December-2003

  'grep local /etc/leafnode/local.groups | cat -t'
  # define local groups
  # $Header: /etc/leafnode/RCS/local.groups,v 1.2 2006/04/13 20:44:54 root Exp root $
  #local.test^Iy^Ilocal test group
  local.test^Iy^Ilocal test group

and finally, i have the directory structure _not mentioned_ in the
README.html:

  0 2 $ ll /var/spool/news/local/
  total 12K
  1301050 drwxr-sr-x 3 news news 4.0K 2006-04-13 18:13 ./
  1267994 drwxrws--- 21 news staff 4.0K 2006-04-20 18:15 ../
  1301051 drwxr-sr-x 2 news news 4.0K 2006-04-20 18:14 test/

i cannot subscribe to "local.test" and obviously the default article
doesn't show up.

regards,

  clemens
