[leafnode-list] e-mail gateway, authentication

is there any easy way to convert e-mail addresses into newsgroup messages? 
Personally, I'm not convinced it's a good idea but the people that pay me want it.

Same question with user authentication, should I turn on authentication and how 
well does it work?


also, if I can convince them to send some money to the project, is it still 
alive enough to be worthwhile?
