Oops, I just saw that filters.example was not meant to be taken as is. 
After cleaning filters now gmane.comp.lang.scala.user will be retrieved.


It seems that especially this filter entry
newsgroups = .*
pattern = ^Subject:(?!.*bad weather)
action = kill


filters all messages out. Don't know why.
