<small history lesson>
when DejaNews began to archive usenet articles, some people objected on
the grounds that usenet is an ephemeral medium, ie the messages are not
meant to be kept forever in a permanent archive. To accomodate this
feeling, DejaNews agreed to honour a header line of the form

X-No-Archive: Yes

by not adding such articles to their archive. When Google swallowed
DejaNews that practice continued for some years, but at some point Google
chose (without asking anyone or paying attention to complaints) to include
those articles in their archive, but to remove them from the public
display (in the Google Groups web forum portal to usenet) after a few days.

No-one else has ever felt obliged to do anything about that header.
