Can I ask once more what's wrong with just doing (after enabling 
EPEL, 
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL#How_can_I_use_these_extra_packages.3F):

# yum install leafnode

and be done (of course, you would have to remove all 
confgiuration around xinetd)?
