The ever-rumoured-about Leafnode-2.0 alpha versions contain this feature.
You can provide placeholders in several languages, and the text of the
placeholder message is parsed for some special abbreviations so that you
can include
- the FQDN of the server (%server)
- the version of leafnode (%version)
- the name of the newsgroup (%newsgroup)

Your pseudoarticle could, for example, look like this (in fact this
is the pseudoarticle which I am currently using):

%---begin---
This server, %server, is running Leafnode %version,
a dynamic NNTP proxy.

You have requested an article in %newsgroup.
This group is currently unavailable, but articles will be retrieved
from your upstream server upon the next call of fetchnews.

Leafnode is available from
	http://www.leafnode.org/

This pseudoarticle was generated from a template in /etc/leafnode.
%---end---

If you have additional suggestions or if you want sources for the latest
alpha (called 2.0a18), don't hesitate to email me.
