Hello,

After the texpire -r accident which ate Mike Castle's spool, it's time
to get a new "stable beta" out the door. I'm not spending time to
research exactly which version broke, this is a beta tree after all and
I'm short on time ATM.

So here's the release candidate:

This version mostly fixes texpire, and speeds -r up at the same time.
