Have you checked with telnet how many of these articles are actually
present?

Try:

telnet + authentication

GROUP alt.binaries.photography
XHDR Message-ID 236911-236950

and see how many lines you get. If news.cable.ntlworld.com executes
cancel messages, and 47 of the 48 articles have been canceled, this is
normal behaviour. I'd think if leafnode had skipped articles, there'd be
more information in the log.

I don't currently see a problem here.
