[leafnode-list] [Leafnode-announce] Leafnode 1.9.46.rel released (STABLE)

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

                ----------------------------------------
                 leafnode 1.9.46.rel has been released.
                ----------------------------------------

Leafnode 1.9.46 updates the NTL "do not lose my postings" workaround,
courtesy of Grahame Cooper. Fetchnews -n works again, more verbose
reporting of active refetches and German manual page updates.

All users of older leafnode-1.9 series versions should update.

NEW: A binary RPM for Linux with glibc 2.2 and i486/80486 or compatible
processors is provided.

Note that you can subscribe to a moderated (non-spam) leafnode-announce
mailing list or you can watch file releases at sourceforge below, if you
want to be notified when new leafnode releases become available.

Leafnode 1.9.46 is or will become available in .tar.bz2 format from these sites:

o SourceForge -- this site also carries patches to upgrade
   http://sourceforge.net/projects/leafnode/
   http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=57767&release_id=196000
   rsync://osdn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/leafnode/

   Patch:
   http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=57767&release_id=195999

o Dortmund University -- this site also carries .tar.gz tarballs
    http://mandree.home.pages.de/leafnode/
    rsync://www.dt.e-technik.uni-dortmund.de/leafnode-1/

o IBiblio/MetaLab (will take some days to pick up) -- has FTP sites
    http://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/MIRRORS.html
    Check the system/news/transport directory

Not all sites carry all files, the .tar.bz2 is available everywhere,
the upgrade patch is available everywhere except IBiblio.

### BUGFIXES
o fix fetchnews -n regression, broken since 1.9.44.rc1. (-n was ignored)
o match (and properly translate) section headers in German manual pages.

### CHANGES
o report when active must be refetched and why.

### WORKAROUNDS
o ntl changed the banner of their still-broken NNTP software. Apply STAT
workaround also to the new banner. Reported by Grahame Cooper.
